Box - Walks - Socks!

It's taken me a long time to get the videos off the camera and on the computer!

I was at Shelli's on Monday and she had just purchased this toy stroller for $5 at walmart and so I had to pick one up too after Aubrey seemed to bully her way into playing with it as much as she could. But, it's a little too old for her and she tried to climb on it and as a result fell over with her leg stuck in the middle of it. So I put it away for a bit and now she has the box which I think she likes just as much...typical. And yes Emma, she puts the baby carrier on her head and giggles at herself still!

This is from a week or more ago. It's short but I finally got it on video.

So here we have videos of Aubrey trying to put her sock back on, this was a while ago. She was really quiet while I was on the computer, so I looked down and she was just sitting there quietly trying to put her sock back on, I thought it was cute. It's a little long!

Sweet . . . and sometimes sour!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Julianne gave me this sugar cookie recipe that I just loved (after helping myself to her cookies) so I tried it out last night when I made these Valentine's Day cookies. I thought I'd share the recipe - it's very light and fluffy!

Farm House Sugar Cookies:

Cream Together:

2 cups sugar
1 cup butter
2 eggs
1/2 tsp baking soda
4 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup sour cream
4.5 cups flour
1/2 tsp salt.

Roll out 1/4 inch thick on floured surface. Use open cookie cutter. Bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes. Shouldn't brown around edges. Ice while warm.

I opted out for icing and used sugar instead. An easy way to add colour to your cookies without icing is to add some sugar to a ziplock bag, add a few drops of colour of your choice and then use the bag to work the colouring into the sugar.

New Sign

Well, I'm excited to be getting a sign for our front yard - eventually! I filled out the application, paid the fee and handed in artwork and dimensions to planning yesterday. I don't know why it's taken me so long to do this, but I think it's a good idea. It will not only make our house easier for people to find but it will be good advertising as well. We have all the parents who park in front of our house to pick their kids of from school looking at our house anyway! I noticed that other houses had signs in their front yards in our neighbourhood - for tailoring, aesthetics etc. so I realized I would be allowed one, so why not? I guess I just have to wait to hear back from the municipality for approval and then I can get it printed. I want to make a wooden frame as shown, so if anyone has free or cheap lumber that would be suitable - let me know!

Sweet Dreams

Aubrey fell asleep on the way home from shopping but it was too early for her nap so I put her down on the sunroom floor, hoping she wouldn't sleep long. She slept long enough for me to take a few photos and then woke up.
