When we were in Victoria we (Jared) had to buy some Elderflower drink that we haven't seen here in the states. But now I'm not allowed to drink any because we'll then have a missing spot in the bottle rack!

Thrift finds this week
I found this cotton pinstripe material that I'm going to use for bulletin board I'm making for my office wall.
I found this pillow case that I'm going to use for a pillowcase dress for Aubrey. I think I'll trim the bottom with the above brown pinstripe material too.
I found this tank top and I'm torn because I bought it for the purpose of making a handbag out of it. I found a tutorial on turning your old tank top into a bag - it will kind of look like this:
I found another tank top (not for a purse)
I found this Billabong hoodie.
I found almost everything I went in looking for. I even found a little wooden kids table but it was in rough shape and needed painted but was $10 and I wanted to pay $5 so it stayed there. I'm just cheap.
I also found 5 books for Aubrey.
365 - Finding uses for Scrabble pieces
I bought an incomplete Scrabble set at a garage sale years ago and have kept the pieces to use for scrapbook pages and other crafts. Last night I found two new uses: Frame and magnets. I'd also like to make some frames out of old yard sticks/rulers but I haven't found any yet.
Hide and Seek
Somehow she learned to play hide and seek. She showed us by standing in a corner and counting. This is how she hides though. Doesn't quite get the concept of hiding quietly.

Hand Trace
I came across a photo where a mother had stitched 3 of her children's hand tracings onto material in a hoop with their names in each one and thought it was a great idea. So I made my own version and framed it. I thought I could just keep adding more as her hand gets larger, in different colours around this one.
Free Printable
I found this free printable for the 13th article of faith here and printed it off and put it in a little $0.99 Ikea frame. I love this frame - it's great for putting seasonal things in as it's easy to change. Just drop the photo in.
365 - New chalk holder
Not new to me, just new to the chalk. I think Jared got this when he worked at A&W as a teenager. It will be Aubrey's cup one day when I can trust her with glass - not quite yet. Until then, it holds my chalk perfectly.

Snow flurries
Although snow is coming down, it doesn't seem to be sticking. We thought we'd go out quickly and play anyways. Aubrey's size 2 snow suite is still to large for her - I guess it will still fit her next year!

Cheap solution
I've been trying to come up with creative (cheap) solutions to store all my craft supplies in these open shelves. I don't have money to bay nice baskets to fill up all these shelves. I thought about making my own boxes out of cardboard, but as we were unpacking a few final boxes I came across 3 of the same boxes that fit perfectly in shelf openings. I had to trim the height a bit but other than that they fit perfectly. I first tried painting the fronts white, but the shelves are off white and it didn't work. I painted it the same colour as our walls which matched the shelves perfectly, but was too boring. So of course the next thing I went to was felt. I had some yardage left over from making a pillow and glued it on the fronts of the boxes and it looks much better and less like a cardboard box!
I think it would look best to have a fourth box (on the left) but I really like having a spot (up high) to put my camera and lenses so I can grab it quickly when I need it, so I'm undecided.

Aubrey loves looking at her scrapbooks and when she saw this page she said "oh no - mess!"

365 - Old photo
Being stuck inside with Aubrey being sick for the past few days, I'm getting sick of finding things in my home to take photos of so when I came across this old photo of her from a folder of photos I haven't even edited yet, this one made me laugh.

365 - catching up
Our new bedroom lamps
Finally blue skies and sunshine!
Sleeping on the couch sick with a cold and an ear infection.
I made Aubrey some slippers but she's not interested in them at all. Oh well.

Dr. Visit today
We took Aubrey to the doctor today as she's had a cold and fever since Tuesday. She has an ear infection and will start antibiotics tonight. The poor thing has been sleepy and lays on the couch all day. I hope she sleeps better tonight.
On a lighter note, she made us laugh out loud the other night. As we were tucking her into bed we ask her if she wanted kisses. She pointed at Jared and told him to kiss me, so he did. Then she said to me: eyes closed mama! We thought it was pretty funny.

Can't get enough of baby Lyla!
Tracey had shared with us some photos that a mother had taken of their baby sleeping on the floor as she had made up elaborate scenes around them and I thought it was a great idea so we tried it with Lyla.

365 | Day 30 & 31!
Camera phone photo again - not the greatest but I love Owen's expression.
Aubrey got to make some valentine's crafts at Tracey's daycare today.
