New addition to my website

Since remaking my website I've neglected to create pages for my photo gifts such as jewelry and books etc. I just received my photo pendant necklace and bracelets in the mail and love them, so I've added them along with all my other gift options to my website. On the main page it is the "Shop" link. Check it out and tell me what you think!

Thrift Shop Finds

I had a Dr. appointment in Sidney yesterday and Jared was home with Aubrey so I decided to do a little thrift shop shopping while I was there and I found some great deals!
First I found a black pair of church shoes for Aubrey for 50 cents (she really needed some good walking shoes for church), then I found 2 almost new roman blinds for $6.50 and they fit perfectly in our laundry room which had terrible gross curtains in them left with the house. Next was a wicker chest with a lid that stays shut with a loop and toggle for $15 which fits perfectly in the toy shelf in the sunroom. It now holds all the larger toys so they are out of site.
All in all I was pretty pleased with my finds!

Well...I tried!

Aubrey slept in until 7:30 this morning - huge change from that last week or more of waking up between 5 and 6 am! But she still seemed tired and a bit fussy afterward. I put her in her crib with a bunch of toys so I could take a shower so we could go out and do something and I got out of the bathroom and she was asleep in her crib with her blanket pulled up over her and everything! I was all dressed up and no where to go! She slept for 2 hours and woke up really sleepy and still not very happy, so we had lunch and went for a walk to the park. She was enjoying swinging and then was done. I took her out and tried to put her back in the stroller to go to the next park that was more exciting then just swings - but she would have none of it. I put her down on the sand, she fell over and got her hands all covered in sand and REALLY didn't like that. She pointed towards the adult swing so I took her over to it, and held her on my lap while I swung - still didn't like it. Not happy about anything...if only she could speak! So I carried her while I pushed the stroller to the next park (not an easy task) where she went down the slides and sat on my lap while we went down the spiral one (didn't know it had such a kick!). Now she had a poopy diaper, didn't want to sit anywhere, especially her stroller and I was not carrying her all the way home. So through some tears she finally got buckled in and we headed home, just in time for it to start raining. Now she's in bed again - I hope it will help! Phew!

Daffodils

All the daffodils are up in our front yard now and I forgot that they were the double-petal kind. They are really pretty, I'm glad we got that kind.

The railing is finally up!

Jared had 3 days off this week so he finally had time to work on getting the railing up. (with the help of A LOT of nagging). We spent the first day finding the supplies and figuring out how to do it and then the 2nd day Jared put it together (with the help of Dave). It wasn't easy to figure out, but in the end it's up and works and looks good. We were just going to paint the whole thing white, but now I'm thinking I want to stain the newel posts, hand rail and the bottom rail so it ties in with the floors and the rest of the wood in the room. I could paint them the dark brown that's on the walls and stair treads too, but I think that might be too much of a contrast. We also need to add moulding to the base of the post to cover the metal plate and buy a baby gate for the top of the stairs. I'm hoping we'll find a gate today.

I know I can't sing but . . .

I didn't think a 16 month old would know the difference! As I was coming home from shopping this morning I was trying to sing along with the radio to get Aubreys attention and to keep her awake. She immediately plugged each ear with her index fingers until I stopped. Coincidental or on purpose??

Spring has Sprung (we'd like to think)

Some updates

Last Saturday Aubrey decided she wanted to start walking and has been ever since. She hasn't quite figured out how to stand from sitting by herself yet, but I'm sure that will come soon. Now with this new found desire to walk, comes the desire to get out of the sunroom and into the rest of the house. The rest of the house is pretty baby proofed now, except for the stair railing which needs to be replaced and a baby gate added to the top of the stairs. We found 18 spindles on usedvictoria for $20 quite a while ago and my dad gave us the top hand rail that was used so all we need is 1 post, 1 half post and the bottom shoe rail and all the hardware. We went to Home Depot last night to see what they had and what is involved. We think we have it figured out but I think Jared's a bit nervous of making a mistake. He has 3 days off next week so the plan is to get it done then and I can't wait.

Another project that I've been waiting to get done was getting my business sign up in the front yard which we did yesterday! We used some wood Dave had left over from something and Jared made a post for the sign to hang from. It's a little bigger then I pictured but I think it will definitely stand out! I'm not sure where to move the address rock to though. Maybe to the right of the sign in front of the spiky plant? Any suggestions?

More Catching Up: Last October trip to Oregon

Click on the above page to see a larger photo of Aubrey being very mad in the sand - cracks me up - especially the fists of furry.
