Happy Halloween!

Aubrey was given the cutest little pumpkin toque for halloween from the hospital.
I'll try and get some photos of her with her eyes open - that just doesn't happen very often!

Happy Anniversary

Saturday (October 25th) was our 7th Anniversary. I was released from the hospital in the early afternoon and it was nice to come home to a clean house and presents from my parents.
We got a lot done that day, (I should say my parents and Jared got a lot done). We went out for dinner at Med Grill and it was nice to eat real food again. I gave Jared a photo of Aubrey in a frame for his desk at work. He started his new job as Housekeeping Floor Manager today and I wanted to get him a photo to take on his first day back. Jared gave me a beautiful necklace with Aubrey's birth stone - pink tourmaline stone with diamonds around it, it's small and petite just like her and it's beautiful. It was probably one of the best anniversarries we've had as we didn't think Aubrey would be here for us to celebrate it with her!

She Arrived!

October 21st, at 7:32 pm Aubrey Jane Wight arrived by C-Section weighing 4lbs.

Friday evening at midnight, my water broke while I was in Parksville with my sister-in-laws for the evening, Tracey took me to the Nanaimo hospital where she called Jared at 1 am. His was in disbelief and needed some reassurance that she was not joking! He made it to the hospital in an hour, then he took me to Victoria Hospital as there were no signs of labour. They did some tests and an ultrasound - there was no hurry, everything looked good. On Tuesday morning we did another ultrasound that showed her foot was over my cervix and it was starting to open. I had also lost a lot of fluid around her, so after waiting all day, they finally decided to deliver her. After 30 mins or so, she arrived happy and healthy! I was able to hold her for a few minutes before they took her to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit were she went to Level 2 (the middle of the 3 stages of care). She did not need to go on any oxygen, just a tiny IV for antibiotics and a tube down her nose to feed her milk. Yesterday she got moved to Level 1 so is doing really well. She has no IV or tubes and has started nursing and bottle feeding. She will hopefully be taken out of her incubator in a week or 2 as long as she gains weight and maintains a good temperature.

We are very blessed to have her so soon and healthy. She's a beautiful little girl and we couldn't be happier!

Addicted to Digital Scrapbooking!

So after giving up on scrapbooking quite a while ago, and then switching to digital scrapbooking - and giving up on that as well, I have come across all the latest and greatest scrapbooking has to offer again and started buying stuff. Then I've stumbled upon the greatest digital scrapbooking sites and now have switched to that again! It's amazing what you can find for free and how much better it all looks. I've already made a maternity and ultrasound page, our christmas cards for this year and a birth announcement - all ready to add the photo and date! I just need some photos to scrapbook now!
