FAMILY VACATION TO VICTORIA

It had been a while since we have visited Victoria so it was time for another visit, this time Jared had a week or so off so it was a much more relaxing trip then past quick ones.

We left the same day my sis-in-laws left but later in the day after Jared was off work. We drove straight to my parents in Duncan and got in late. The next day, Jared got picked up by his brothers and they were off on their own adventure - up to Cape Scott which is the very tip of Vancouver Island. They were camping and hiking to the very point and lighthouse for the next few days.
I'll let him post his own story and photos!

In the meantime, Aubrey had fun picking raspberries every day.
We took a drive with my mom to Chemanus and I wish I had a better photo than this! This couple had on full adult sleepers and it was quite a head turner!

I found some good stuff at the thrift store!

We played at Mike & Julianne's (my brother) and with their little ones Owen and Lyla,

Uncle Mike found lots of snakes!

We were waiting at my brother's until Jared got dropped off from his hiking trip and was getting late. I let Aubrey stay up and she wanted to cuddle with Uncle Mike. I think she knows who to buddy up with because she secretly knows she can boss them around!

One night we went on a walk with my parents along the Cowichan River and we saw lots of little fish.

Aubrey had so much fun playing in a real back yard and with kids her age!
Tate found a little tree frog!

She also had a lot of fun playing inside with all her cousins!

IT'S BEEN A CRAZY FEW WEEKS!

August brought us a lot of visitors, which was awesome, but it was nice to have some downtown in September (or so I thought).  Near the end of the month all my sister-in-laws and my oldest neice (on my side) came for a girls only visit which was a lot of fun! They did a little shopping on the way down to Seattle and the next day we spent the WHOLE day shopping. I think we were all exhausted by the end of that day!

getting sucked into wearing gross fake hear and sparkly embellishments!

Tracey almost bought them - hold strong Tracey!

Shoe shopping - you can see the diversity in styles amongst us!

Monumental moment - Shelli's first time EVER going to a Target! Can you believe it!
It went by fast, but lots of shopping was done and it was a great time! Come back soon girls!

POULSBO + GIG HARBOR

Yesterday we took the ferry over to Bainbridge Island from downtown Seattle and visited a little place called Poulsbo. It's a cute little town on the water.

What's a phone booth?

 Best Mole I've ever had!

 From this little Mexican restaurant

We walked along the waterfront (well, Jared & Aubrey did while I went shopping).

I have a hard time staying out of these stores!

 We founds some fresh blackberries

Then we stopped for an ice cream cone and kept driving. We drove down to Bremerton and on to Gig Harbor where we drove through the pretty little historic part of town and that's when I saw the nice view of Mt. Rainier. I can't resist taking photos of that mountain!

Then we drove over the Tacoma Narrows Bridge (can you still see the mountain?) and headed home.

Jared was tired after all that driving!

MT. RAINIER

Two weekends ago we went to Mt. Rainier (finally) but it was not a clear day and we couldn't see the peak of the mountain (it hid behind clouds the whole time!). It was a nice day though and we were able to hike a bit around the base and see other views.
 Almost near the top

I'm glad these were the only animal sightings we had!

This is only a small peak next to the main peak, but it was the highest point that was visible.

Looking North from the Mountain (our backs to Mt. Rainier)

 Truffulla tree??

We did a short loop that took us up a hill that overlooked the mountain and range.

FUN WITH PHOTOS

Aubrey will be 4 in 2 months (yes, I'm a little ahead of myself) and I thought this year would be a good time to start taking a yearly photo and add all her favorites on it. We headed out into Ballard to look for a good wall to stand in front of!

Oh this look! But it quickly turned to smiles!

We found the perfect wall, all framed and everything! I found this idea on Pinterest and loved it.
Since she just started announcing what she wanted to be when she grows up, I thought this year would be a good time to start this!
