GREAT AMERICA + GILROY GARDENS

We've been to Great America quite a few times now and this week Aubrey went twice and once to Gilroy Gardens! We are getting great use out of our season passes!

We went the other day with friends from Aubrey's class and one friend from church:

In their defence, we did tell them everyone had to hold hands.

It was a tiring day.

She likes to do things backwards.

Jared's sister and husband came with us one day so he got a chance to go on some big rides. This one looked sickening.

Our pass gets us into Gilroy Gardens which is a really cute kids amusement park set in a garden about 30 mins away from us.

It's not complete with a ride in the garlic (Gilroy is know for their garlic growing!)

We went for a car ride in some 50's cars

They have some very interesting grafted trees here.

Then went for a ride in some 20's cars

 here's another cool tree.

I think this spinning one actually pushed her limits.

We watched the Octonauts perform a show.

The last of the cool trees.

SWIMMING LESSONS

Aubrey just finished 2 week swim lessons. It was a great experience and by day 3 she was swimming on her own!

On the last day, they had to jump in the pool with their clothes on to see what it would be like if they every fell in a pool by accident.

LAST DAY OF SCHOOL

I have to rewind a bit to before school ended which was the first week of June.

The last day of school was a sad one. It was hard to say goodbye to her teacher!

We will miss her!

California's Great America

Yesterday we spent the whole day at Great Ameriaca.
We started out swimming and then went on some rides.

This was a massive spray park/structure. Aubrey went on a little slide but that's about it. She's not such a fan of being sprayed.

There was a smaller spray area that was more her speed.

This ride was called Physco Mouse. It's similar to the goofy ride at California Adventure.
She loved it and every ride she went on - no fear!

Riding on the tram before leaving.

A two level merry go round!

Mother's Day

Last Friday was a free dress day for Aubrey - both her and I were to dress up for Mother's Day Tea.

They sang a song and recited a poem for us.

We sat at their desks and there was a photo of them and a booklet they made for us along with a teapot placemat.

Aubrey's is the yellow flower in the middle.

 They made us bracelets.

On Sunday I had breakfast in bed and I got these purple orchids.

Along with this booklet from Aubrey. I was to guess which drawing on each page Aubrey drew and Jared drew.

 Just a couple pages.

Here's the booklet she made at school.

This page was the best. Apparantly I like meat and I'm not sure where the name "hospital" came from!

Cinco de Mayo

We had a little Cinco de Mayo party with friends from Jareds work as well as a surprise visit from his dad and sister for the weekend!

Jared made chilli verde, refried beans, spanish rice and seven layer dip all from scratch - it was excellent!

Also that weekend we went for a little hike together.
